You decide to take the magic snow scooter. Tinselberry cheers and hands it to you. The silver wheels sparkle, and the handlebars glow with twinkling blue lights.
"Hold on tight!" he says. "And don't press the jingling button unless you want EXTRA speed!"
You gulp. Extra speed sounds… exciting. And maybe a little scary.
You hop on. The scooter hums softly like a sleepy reindeer. Then it zips forward across the snowy path, leaving a trail of glitter behind you. You zoom past the reindeer practice field, where Comet waves. Gumdrop bushes dusted with sugar snow are a blur as you zip by.
The freezing wind tingles your cheeks. The scooter shakes a little on the bumpy snow—and you feel your thumb hovering near that jingling button. It's probably not a good idea.…So naturally, you press it.
The scooter blasts forward with a JINGLE-ROCKET WHOOSH! You shriek as everything becomes a whirlwind—trees, candy canes, snowflakes—until you realize the path is curving and you are most definitely not. You try to turn. You fail.
WHUMP! You crash directly into a freshly built snow fort… one that had just been proudly constructed by three tiny winter bunnies. Snow explodes everywhere in a giant puff, and the bunnies squeak in outrage, tiny paws on tiny hips.
Your wrist throbs. Uh-oh.
The bunnies help dust you off (they're grumpy, but still polite), and you limp back toward the workshop. Santa takes one look at your wrist and calls for Snowmend the Healer Elf.
"You'll be okay," Santa says kindly, "but you need rest. I'll have another elf continue the search."
The End.
