The Great Gingerbread Escape

"How can I help you get to the North Pole?" you ask. "I can't let you march there all by yourselves!" The gumdrop-hatted leader straightens proudly. "We already know the way," he says. "But we need a little boost to get started. Holiday magic travels best when mixed with kindness, music, and a bit of sparkle." Another cookie nods eagerly. "If you sing a Christmas carol and sprinkle us with something sweet, the magic will rise strong enough to carry us north!" You grin. "Music and sugar? That's my specialty." You grab your biggest serving tray and dust it with powdered-sugar "snow." The cookies climb aboard, giggling as they settle in. Their gumdrop buttons glow brighter, pulsing like tiny Christmas lights. "Ready?" you ask. "Ready!" They cheer. You start to sing Jingle Bells—off-key but full of joy. Rex barks along in rhythm as you hum the chorus. As your song fills the kitchen, a soft golden glow swirls around the tray. The powdered sugar lifts like glittery snow, spinning higher and higher. The tray rises a few inches, then soars toward the window. You open it quickly, and a rush of cold air dances through the room. The tray floats out into the snowy night, rising until it's just a sparkle among the stars. The cookies wave down at you. "Merry Christmas, Oven Master! Thank you!" You wave back until they disappear. "Merry Christmas!" you call. Rex licks a bit of leftover magic dust from your hand. You smile. Best. Cookie. Baking. Day. Ever.
