You step back from the bridge. Instead of asking how to cross it, you ask a different question, "Is the bridge the path at all?" You scan the cavern carefully. You decide to try the footholds carved into the cavern wall, winding around the chasm. You move along the wall, steady and cautious. The symbols drift aside as you pass, glowing softly. After ten minutes of maneuvering around the chasm using the footholds you reach the other side. Behind you, the bridge fades, crumbling into dust as if it was never meant to last. Ahead, the tapping sound grows louder. Voices murmur. Tools clink against stone. The tunnel curves downward, opening into a wide chamber glowing with green crystal light.
