But when you reach the kitchen, you stop in your tracks. The cookie plate is empty. Not one crumb left. Your snowman cookie? Gone. Your chocolate chip cookies? Vanished. Even the gingerbread people? Eaten!
There's a single suspicious crumb trail on the counter, a half-eaten cookie on the floor, and what looks like a tiny footprint made out of flour.
You gasp.
You squint.
You grab your imaginary detective hat and declare:
"The Case of the Missing Christmas Cookies has officially begun!"
