At the bottom of the hill stands a jolly snowman with a carrot nose, button eyes, and a scarf as red as a holly berry. But something is different. There—laying right on his scarf—is a long curled piece of paper glowing with warm golden light. It shimmers brighter than the snow around it, almost as if it knows it needs to be found.
Tinselberry gasps. "It's the list! I can feel the magic!"
You gently lift the glowing paper, and the light settles into a soft warm glow. "Come on," you say. "Santa needs this!"
You and Tinselberry hurry back through the forest, past the pine trees and their tinkling branches. The golden sparkles follow you for a moment as if waving goodbye. Soon the warm lights of Santa's Village appear, shining through the snowy evening.
Inside the workshop, Santa looks up from a pile of wrapped presents.
His eyes widen. "You found it?"
You hand him the glowing list. "The snowman was keeping it safe!"
Santa lets out a deep, jolly sigh of relief. "Ho ho ho! You've saved Christmas, my clever little elf!"
Then he reaches behind him and pulls out a large sugar cookie decorated like a Christmas tree—green icing, tiny candy ornaments, and a yellow star on top.
"For you," Santa says kindly, "as a thank-you for your hard work."
You beam with pride as you take the cookie. Christmas is saved—thanks to you.
The End.
