Soon, the whole family is covered in flour and sprinkles. Dad accidentally dumps half a bag of sugar on the counter. Mom drops an egg — splat! — right on Rex's tail (he doesn't mind). Your brother tries to juggle marshmallows and misses every catch.
When you finally pull the new batch of cookies from the oven, the kitchen smells even better than before. You decorate them together, laughing and sneaking bites as you go.
Later, you set out the plate with a note that says: "Dear Santa, Sorry the first batch didn't last! Here's a fresh set, made with love (and a little dog hair)."
On Christmas morning, you find a note from Santa: "Best cookies of the night! I could taste the teamwork. Keep up the family spirit — and maybe save one for poor Rudolph next time!"
